About the event

"2000 Years of Love" is an a cappella journey through the history of love songs - from the ancient beauty of Seikilos' Epitaph to the modern magic of "A Tale as Old as Time."

Time: 24/05/2025, 19:00 – 20:30

Location: All Portugal Space

This chamber concert, performed without instruments, brings together more than two millennia of longing, joy, heartbreak and devotion - in ancient Greek, Latin, French, Occitan, Italian, Spanish, Russian and English.

The format of the programme is very flexible, requires no tools or special equipment and can be adapted to the needs of a particular hall.

Melologue is a blend of a cappella singing, spoken narration and theatrical presence where the voice becomes both melody and meaning.

Reminiscent of a monodrama in form but devoid of instruments, melologue weaves narrative and song into a single chain, echoing the traditions of ancient bards and romantic reciters, yet remaining distinctly personal and contemporary.
