Updated: 2 days ago

Born in Kazan, Russia, he made his orchestral debut at the age of eight and performed a full Chopin solo recital by thirteen. A graduate of the Moscow Conservatory, he studied under the legendary Lev Naumov.

Rem is a laureate of several major competitions, including the XIII International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (1995), the Monte Carlo Piano Masters (Grand Prix, 2001), and the Sydney International Piano Competition (2004).

His performances have captivated audiences from Tokyo to Paris, Sydney to Vienna, and he has shared the stage with world-renowned conductors and orchestras.

His 11-concert cycle “Chopin: Complete Works” and critically acclaimed recordings, including the Complete Mazurkas on Brilliant Classics, have solidified his status as a poetic interpreter of Chopin’s legacy.

Since 2022, he has been based in Portugal, where he continues to perform and create new projects.
