There are many types of bread in Portugal, each region has its own specialities.

Basic | Formatos básicos
pão de forma - moulded, toasted bread
pão integral - wholemeal bread
pão de centeio - rye bread
pão de cereais - bread with cereals
pão de espelta - spelt bread
broa de milho - dense corn bread
pão da avó - grandmother's bread; there is no single recipe, but most often it is oblong, with a crisp crust and loose flesh
baguete - baguette

pão de Mafra - плотный пористый хлеб из региона Мафра
pão alentejano - крупный круглый хлеб с хрустящей корочкой, из Алентежу
pão de Rio Maior - традиционный деревенский хлеб, известен своей плотностью

Small format | Formatos pequenos
bola - a round bread roll
bola de mistura - made of a mixture of white and dark flour
bolinha de Mafra - a mini version of pão de Mafra.
bola de água - a bun with a high water content (it's like it's a little moist and soft)
bola rústica - a rustic bun with a crispy crust.
papo-seco (also called carcaça) - a basic bun with a crack in the middle.
carcaça (rústica / portuguesa) - oblong bun with a crispy crust and pointed edges.
cacete - an oblong loaf, between a bun and a mini baguette.

pão de beterraba - beetroot bread
pão de alfarroba - bread with carob (alfarroba - carob tree), dark, with a slightly sweet flavour
pão de aveia - oat bread
pão com massa mãe - sourdough bread.
pão de nozes - with walnuts
pão de curcuma - with turmeric
pão sem glúten - gluten-free bread
pão de carvão ativado - black bread with activated charcoal
