Fate and destiny: two forces that shape our lives

Destiny is not a judgement. It is an architecture. And destiny is not a destination, but a vector of movement.
This is the opinion of psychologist Dayna Herzog, exploring why we are drawn to certain directions, why we meet these very people and why at key moments it seems as if someone has already written the script.

Fate as a structure of the soul
According to Herzog, destiny is like a foundation. What we came into this world with: temperament, proclivities, traumas of ancestry, culture, language. It's not a collection of random events, but a system. Not karma, not fate, but rather - an "inner code" that life scripts.
Fate is not necessarily about what happens, but how you react.
"Destiny is the part of us that we don't choose but can realise," writes Herzog.
Destiny is a direction
Destiny, unlike fate, has to do with choice. It is what we are drawn to. Something that gives us a sense of "I'm in my place." Destination is a journey where we become more of ourselves, unlock our potential, and impact the world in ways only we can.
Herzog emphasises: purpose always involves contribution. It's not a self-centred search for "what am I awesome at" but a deeper question - "where does the world need my energy?"
Are destiny versus purpose?
No. They are not against, they are like two banks of the same river. Destiny sets the course. Destiny is the current. Sometimes they coincide. Sometimes you have to change trajectory. But the main thing is not to live on autopilot, but to recognise the signals.
Why is this important in emigration?
Immigration is the perfect moment to see where fate ends and destiny begins. You can change language, country, profession - but if you know why you are doing it, there is depth and meaning in the new reality.
Bottom line:
Destiny is the starting point. Destiny is the route. And life is something between a good plan and intuitive driving.
And no matter how much we are tossed around, we can always choose which way to go.
